Katie Katinas, a lyric soprano, has been singing professionally in the Washington area since 1993. She received her Bachelor of Music at Catholic University and her Master of Music at the University of Maryland. Ms. Katinas has sung with The Washington Singers, an 18 member professional singing ensemble under the baton of Paul Hill. She toured with The Creative Opera Ensemble performing operas in local schools and other venues including The National Theater and Wolf Trap.
Ms. Katinas has been a member of the Washington National Opera Chorus for 18 years and has also performed in the student outreach program for the WNO. She played the role of Loliya and the Shepherd Boy in Panella's El Gato Montes. She played the role of Second Nina in the The Washington National Opera's performance of Vives' Dona Francisquita. In WNO's performance of Ward's The Crucible, Ms.Katinas played the role of Martha Sheldon.
In addition to her work with The Washington National Opera, Ms. Katinas has performed as a soloist with The Alexandria Chorale, The New Dominion Chorale and The Washington Choral Ensemble. She has also performed in recital with The Chinese Musical Society of Greater Washington.
